The Fair Grounds
~ Bio ~
This wide swath of land is well groomed, and packed flat with centuries of footsteps. The main road to Moonwatch runs through it, flanked by fields of wild flowers and farmsteads. Those that pass through are reminded of a bygone time. Colorful fences, lingering maypoles, and pillars that will once again host house banners, stand like monuments within the idyllic scene.
Most of the year, this area is akin to a ghost town. The vestiges of joy and livelihood are felt, but rarely seen. Children and travelers alike roam the grounds in search of lost trinkets, coins and memories of a glorious day. Knights of the Righteous Blade occasionally train in the remnants of last year’s arena, the sounds of clashing metal echoing to the distant farmer’s tending their crops. Most days though, travelers merely pass through.
Once a year however, when it is House Aetherian’s turn to host the Avalayle Grand, everything changes. Over the span of one month, the fair grounds transform into a thriving settlement. Folk from all across the domain travel here in droves, setting up tents, shop, and taverns alike. A colisuem is risen, where competitors will fight to earn a Miracle. Great feasts are held in communal pavilions, where the whole of Waeldstone become neighbors.
~ Founding And History ~
195 years ago: The First Avalayle Grand is held. It is held annually.
185 years ago: Demand for the Avalayle Grand grows so high that it becomes a seasonal event.
105 years ago: Seeing the success of trade and morale, the other Three Houses insist that they also be allowed to host the Avalayle Grand, and House Aetherian agrees.

Economy: Annually, becomes the center of all trade, however it is unregulated.

The Competitor’s Arena: This massive stadium can fit nearly the entirety of Waeldstone within it’s walls. The seating is tiered and provides spectacular views of the action occuring in the sands. While the peasantry fight for preferred seating, the nobility enjoys the event from private boxes.
The Feasting Hall: This stretch of road is flanked with vendors from across the coast, providing all manner of food for those in need.
Makeshift Market: While most come here to watch the events, many folk make a living preparing for this week. These merchants sell their goods to those across the coast, fighting for the best locations, and stay open late into the night.
