Quote: “Let others walk the road of temptation. I shall remain on the path that is true and show its many virtues through my scars and tattered garb.”
Elandor Aetherian
Appearance: Tall and still imposing despite his years with long graying hair and a neatly trimmed, dignified beard. His shining pale blue eyes make him seem a decade younger than he is. He carries himself with deliberate poise even seems capable of striding into war.
Known Information: The long standing High Lord of Waeldstone, Elandor has sat upon the Throne of Weighted Justice for 63 years. He was the first of the coast’s High Lords to join Cade Cafferen in war and is beloved by his people. He is considered extremely pious by most, but perhaps somewhat pompous with his ever present “holier than thou” act. Still, he is beloved by the masses and celebrated for his fair and generous rule.
Lendsley Aetherian (Bishop)
Age: 53 years old
Nickname: The Humble
Role: High Lady of Moonwatch
Quote: “True strength is not measured by the weight of one’s own victories. Rather, by how well one can serve those who are yet victorious.”
Appearance: Slender and graceful with chestnut hair worn in a braid. She has kind, deep-set hazel eyes and dresses modestly for her station.
Known Information: Admired by the commonfolk but often dismissed by the nobility of the Four Houses, who consider her little more than Elandor’s “second wife.” Still, the people of Waeldstone revere her as a living saint. Stories of her personally tending the sick during plagues and refusing lavish gifts are widespread.
Riona Aetherian
Age: 66 years old
Nickname: The Proper
Role: Oathsworn, Former Ruler of Dreamrest, Dame, respected Matriarch of the Glorious Lineage
Quote: “Literacy is not a luxury; it is the only thing standing between us and savagery.”
Appearance: Average height and willowy with light skin and curly auburn hair that flows to her lower back. Her steel blue eyes are sharp and assessing. Now in her later years, she has grown pleasingly plump and carries herself with deliberate refined poise. She favors high-necked gowns in House colors.
Known Information: The younger sister of High Lord Elandor, Riona is treated with respect and considered to have significant power. While she hasn’t accomplished much on her own, none would dare risk the wrath of her brother. The commonfolk consider her to be fair but somewhat detached and aloof. “Not one to dance or work beside us. Reckon she’d rather watch us from her reading tower.”
Lartel Aetherian (Ashter)
Age: 64 years old
Nickname: The Wealthy
Role: Grand Marshal, Knight of The Righteous Blade, Ruler of Dreamrest
Quote:“A man is measured not by how he leads his life but what he leaves behind.”
Appearance: Very tall and powerfully built with dark caramel-colored skin and short, curly flaxen hair that is beginning to silver at the temples. He has rich, expressive eyes and maintains a well-groomed, debonair appearance even when working at the forge.
Known Information: Married into House Aetherian after rising to the top of the House of Merit. Known by most for his wealth and shrewd negotiating, but not considered a “political player” by members of the Four House’s Glorious Linegage. Commonfolk consider him harsh and stingy with advancements throughout the House of Merit.
Age: 38 years old
Nickname: The Blade
Role: Grand Marshal, Knight of The Righteous Blade, Ruler of Dreamrest
Quote: “At court, one’s honor is their sword. Wield it well and draw it often. Let the Gods judge the rest.”
Taniya Aetherian
Appearance: Lean and athletic, presenting both feminine beauty and power. Her tanned skin is marred with dozens of scars gained while training and on campaign. Striking emerald eyes compliment her curly blonde hair, often tied back in a braid or warrior’s knot. She moves with confidence, grace, and the presence of a seasoned warrior. While no stranger to the finery of court, she prefers her pageantry armor, often with a flowing white cloak embroidered with the emblem of the Righteous Blade.
Known Information: Elandor Aetherian’s niece, and the Grand Marshal of the House. Taniya is considered to be Waeldstone’s strongest knight and regularly proves it to her doubters. Within the last five years, she won the Avalayle Grand twice. With her first Miracle, she sought to bless the workers of the Shipwright’s Cradle, ensuring Dreamrest’s fishermen had ample harvest. With her second, she requested the Gods watch over her ailing daughter Rosealyn, who suffered both illness and injury in the same year. The commonfolk have praised her requests while members of the other Houses mock her sentimentality. Regardless, few trifle with the Grand Marshal and Blade of Waeldstone.
Killian Aetherian (Bartelot)
Age: 42 years old
Nickname: The Kind
Role: Oathsworn, Master Shipwright
Quote: “I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth… So I built the ships that carry them.”
Appearance: Short and broad-shouldered with a powerful, stocky build. He has fair skin, thick black hair that falls to his shoulders, a neatly trimmed thin mustache, and warm green eyes that often sparkle with calculated charm.
Known Information: Born into a house of competent tradesmen, Killian married far above his station. “If not for robbing Taniya of her heart when they were teens, he would have never climbed beyond the House of Merit.” Still, the commonfolk consider him to be the epitome of Waeldstone success. “The man worked his arse off to become a Master Shipwright and sailor! His talent and ethic were so pure, it won him the heart of an Aetherian heir! A man straight out of a storybook, he is!”
Age: 20 years old
Nickname: The Youthful
Role: Oathsworn, Sir, Oathling of the Righteous Blade

Dantis Aetherian
Appearance: Thin, slender, coiled hair and shaved sides, icy blue eyes. He radiates a playful aura and never seems to take anything too seriously.
Known Information: The son of Grand Marshal Taniya Aetherian, Dantis has recieved the very finest training Waeldstone has to offer. While still too young for major accomplishments, he has already distinguished himself while training with Sir Righteous and his work performed for the House of Merit. Most nobles consider him a promising but unproven youth riding on the coattails of his famous mother. The commonfolk appreciate his willingness to bump elbows at the House of Merit but see him as little more than a spoiled boy playing hero.
Rosealyn Aetherian
Age: 19 years old
Nickname: The Fearless
Role: Oathsworn, Dame, Oathling of the Righteous Blade
Quote: “I’m not afraid of anything! Or have you forgotten? I’m an Aetherian!”
Appearance: Slender and athletic, most consider her the spitting image of her mother, except with less muscle. She has tanned olive skin, bright eyes, and long, coiled black hair. Positively filled with energy, Rosealyn rarely acts lady-like, even when dressed in her courtly attire.
Known Information: The daughter of Grand Marshal Taniya Aetherian, Rosealyn rejects the expectations others put on her and strives to become the realm’s greatest knight. Many believe she has remarkable promise as a duelist but perhaps lacks intelligence as she regularly throws herself into dangerous situations.
Age: 35 years old
Nickname: The Skilled
Role: Oathsworn, Dame, Master Architect
Quote: “I don’t need praise. What I need are good materials and honest workers.”
Airis Royce (Aetherian)
Appearance: Beautiful and willowy with sun-kissed skin, straight dark hair that falls nearly to her hips, and stormy blue eyes. She carries herself with grace and is never seen out of an elegant, flattering gown.
Known Information: As the youngest sister of Taniya, Airis was never meant to lead her House. Thus, she committed her life to the House of Merit, and in time became the Master of the Architect's guild. Yet even for all her success, the court only remembers her for voluntarily taking her husband’s name and denouncing her distant claim to the Throne of Weighted Justice. Recently, she completed her designs to improve the defenses of all castles in Waeldstone and now attempts to acquire funding.
Falk Royce
Age: 50 years old
Nickname: The Dependable
Role: Master of Revels, Oathsworn, Master Woodwright
Quote: “What is life without a little festival… of course, even festivals need order and rules to be enjoyed.”
Appearance: Stout and powerfully built with a broad chest and thick arms hardened by years at the workbench. He has beige skin, thinning ginger hair combed back from a high forehead, tawny eyes, and a prominently crooked nose. He walks with confidence, leading the hips and almost always has his sleeves rolled up to display his workman’s forearms.
Known Information: Husband to Airis Aetherian, Falk Royce has wasted no time since joining the ranks of Sacred Guardians. In his short tenure, he captured the leader of the Grim Wolf Gang, hung him from the gallows, and disbanded their criminal organization. He was well loved by his people until he recently declared The Purity Edict, which bans gambling, public drunkenness, and “frivolous entertainment.”
Age: 9 years old
Nickname: The Weeping
Role: Oathsworn, Dame
Quote: “Why must everyone be so cruel to one another?”
Sofia Royce
Appearance: A delicate, wide-eyed girl with her mother’s sun-kissed skin, stormy blue eyes and long, straight hair. She is small for her age but moves with grace, usually clutching a sketchbook or a small wooden toy.
Known Information: Far too young to affect the political world, Sophia lives the simple life of a child. Still, she has shown a remarkable talent for drawing and early architectural design, often assisting her mother with small sketches. Most of the court sees her as a sweet, well-mannered but overly emotional child.
Robyn Aetherian
Age: 50 years old
Nickname: The Towering
Role: Oathsworn, Sir, Knight of The Righteous Blade
Quote: “The oak doesn’t complain when winter comes.”
Appearance: Towering and statuesque, Sir Robyn Aetherian stands well over six and a half feet tall with an athletic and powerful frame. He has fair skin, long brown hair usually tied back in a warrior’s tail, and striking violet eyes. Even in his fiftieth year, he moves with imposing grace and maintains the physique of a man half his age.
Known Information: A second cousin of High Lord Elandor Aetherian, Sir Robyn spent his youth personally escorting and protecting dozens of peasant pilgrim caravans traveling to the temples of the Kindred Gods. Now he serves as the personal body guard to the Glorious Lineage.
Age: 48 years old
Nickname: The Jovial
Role: Oathsworn, Dame, Master Alchemist
Quote: “Why trust the Gods or magic? I can produce everything I need with these elixirs! They don’t get jealous, backfire, or ignore my prayers. Truly, you can’t go wrong with an elixir!”
Jaslin Aetherian (Strockey)
Appearance: Average height and thin, with honey-pale skin and thick light brown hair that cascades past her shoulders in loose waves, often held back by a simple silver clasp. Wispy bangs frequently fall in front of her green eyes. She has a warm face that lights up easily with laughter, and her hands are perpetually stained from her time as an alchemist.
Known Information: The wife of Sir Robyn Aetherian, Jaslin has become Waeldstone’s most popular herbalist and healer, often outshining the True Sage. She is quick to provide expensive potions and elixirs to those in need, usually worrying about the cost only after the fact.
Rykeworth Aetherian
Age: 22 years old
Nickname: The Proud
Role: Oathsworn, Sir, Knight of The Righteous Blade
Quote: “Let the old guard ask for permission! While they’re waiting, I’ll be taking action and achieving greatness!”
Appearance: Tall, dangerously handsome, and powerfully built with tanned skin from his time training outdoors. His blonde hair is cut short and messy and compliments his warm hazel eyes. He carries himself with natural confidence and moves with the easy power of someone who has fought on the front lines since childhood.
Known Information: As a third cousin to High Lord Elandor, Sir Rykeworth has little hope of sitting on the Throne of Weighted Justice, though that seems of little concern to him. In his short life, he has proven his prowess for battle so thoroughly that the High Lord named him as one of his personal honor guard. Many in the realm think he will become Waeldstone’s finest hero and bring home numerous Miracles from the Grand.
Age: 19 years old
Nickname: The Golden
Role: Oathsworn, Dame, Knight of The Righteous Blade
Quote: “I train not because I believe I am the best but because I refuse to be anything less.”
Olivia Aetherian
Appearance: Gorgeous and shockingly athletic with a strong toned build. She has fair skin, smoky blue eyes that burn with determination, and long flowing golden hair. Though beautiful, she lacks grace, actively behaving in crude and boyish ways to deter suitors.
Known Information: Even with her behavior and Sir Robyn as her father, there is no deterrent of suitors vying for Olivia’s hand in marriage. Somehow, she isn’t distracted by the onslaught of advances and focuses solely on her training. Though she has accomplished nothing politically for House Aetherian, she has recently gained attention from Sir Righteous for her exceptional speed and precision with a blade. Still, she is mocked by many for her boisterous claims and stubborn refusal to follow “traditional” paths.
Osgood Volmark
Age: 87 years old
Nickname: The Wise
Role: True Sage, Oathsworn
Quote: “Wisdom is knowing that patience wins nearly every war.”
Appearance: Tall and gangly, with a slightly stooped posture. He has fair skin stretched thin over sharp bones, a thick, unkempt grey beard, and a heavily balding scalp with wispy grey hair clinging to the sides. A scowl drapes his face, and wine-red eyes survey with disappointment.
Known Information: Serving nearly five decades as Waeldstone’s True Sage, Osgood has been the mastermind behind many of House Aetherian’s policies. He is respected as the man who ended the Lung-Rot and as an intellectual legend. Though a bit of a curmudgeon and snippy in his late years, he remains beloved.
Age: 85 years old
Nickname: The Insightful
Role: Oathsworn
Quote: “If I am to endure another mundane word from your grating voice, do make an effort to say something of worth, won’t you?”
Mathusela Volmark (Calderan)
Appearance: Elderly and thin with silver-white hair worn in a braided crown. She has sharp features, pale grey eyes, and long fingers stained with ink. She dresses in layered robes of wine red and keeps her nose turned up at all times.
Known Information: As the wife of the True Sage, Mathusela has helped implement policy and reform throughout Waeldstone for decades. She was namely instrumental in expanding the People’s Library and is considered to have a brilliant intellect.
Dovan Volmark
Age: 67 years old
Nickname: The Logical
Role: Oathsworn, Master Tanner
Quote: “There is more to life than legacy… I’m just not sure what exactly…”
Appearance: Tall and gaunt with the slumped shoulders of a man crushed by his father’s shadow. His once-handsome face is deeply lined, and his thinning grey hair fights to stay in any fixed position.
Known Information: Dovan has received the finest education of anyone born in Waeldstone as the son of the coast’s most brilliant minds. Yet, for all that was expected of him, he has done nothing since becoming a Master Tanner in the House of Merit. Most find him to be distant and cold but competent enough.
Age: 30 years old
Nickname: The Admired
Role: Oathsworn
Quote: “Must we indulge in yet another night of dancing and frivolity? The coast is collapsing, firmly held in the claws of beasts, and yet still we dance… Does no one else see the madness in this?”
Rafe Volmark
Appearance: Tall, rakish, and handsome, Rafe is powerfully built with a broad, barrel chest and an intimidating frame. He has curly, raven-black hair that falls to his shoulders in delicious waves, hazel eyes, and an intoxicating smile. Though he would prefer to go unseen, his presence attracts the lustful gazes of suitors everywhere he goes.
Known Information: The grandson of True Sage Volmark, Oathsworn Volmark had dedicated himself to serving his House in war efforts and knighthood. Most of the court questions why he has not pledged himself to the Order of the Righteous Blade instead of creating his own style of fighting. Recently, he criticized Grand Marshal Taniya for losing at the Grand, claiming he would’ve been the superior choice to compete.
Renny Volmark
Age: 27 years old
Nickname: The Selfless
Role: Oathsworn
Quote: “Let the elite cling to their ways. I prefer the ease of the common man without its pretentious code and pageantry.”
Appearance: Broad-shouldered, thin of waist, and possessing a rugged handsomeness, it’s no question why the Volmark boys possess so many suitors. He has the same raven-black hair as his brother (though usually tied back messily), grey eyes, and a collection of small scars across his arms and jaw from reckless fights.
Known Information: The grandson of True Sage Volmark and younger brother of Rafe. Renny makes no attempt to conform to courtly politics and spends far more time with the common man rather than attending to his noble duties. While scolded by his House, he is beloved by the peasantry for regularly defending their villages and homes from monster attacks and bandit raids.
Age: 25 years old
Nickname: The Hammer
Role: Oathsworn, Master Engineer
Quote: “Rest? Ha! Don’t make me laugh! I’ll rest when I’m dead, or this realm shows me one man as competent as I!”
Resse Volmark
Appearance: Beautiful and intimidating with beguiling, dark features, sharp cheekbones, and bright eyes. Her black hair is usually pulled back into a tight ponytail, though loose strands often escape and frame her face.
Known Information: The granddaughter of True Sage Volmark and youngest sibling of Dovan’s children. She climbed to the status of Master Engineer in the House of Merit at a remarkably young age and has mentored dozens of apprentices in her tenure. Most of them consider her a trailblazer, strive to become her direct assistant, and are utterly enamored with her beauty.
Derron Coggeshall
Age: 68 years old
Nickname: The Cold
Role: Gold Warden, Oathsworn
Quote: “Forgotten… forgotten and unmourned… by all but me! Let the weak turn their minds toward softer things; I shall stare at what is lost and keep those gone living in my gaze.”
Appearance: Surprisingly strong and mobile for his age with a powerful, grizzled frame. He is handsome in a harsh weathered way with a sharp jawline, merciless, apathetic eyes, and a permanent scowl. His graying hair is kept short but messy and complimented by an unkempt beard which streaks with silver.
Known Information: Derron fought valiantly alongside Cayde Cafferen and Elandor Aetherian during the Evarian War 40 years ago, earning his family’s elevation to Gold Warden. Since then, he has used his position to dominate trade and amass significant wealth for House Coggeshall. Still, all his success does not distract him from the pain of losing his wife to illness and only son to war.
Age: 35 years old
Nickname: The Ambitious
Role: Oathsworn, Master Mason
Quote: “So much wasted potential! Give me a few weeks and I can transform this dour space into something truly inspiring!”
Victoria Coggeshall (Wallace)
Appearance: Waifish and beautiful with a delicate, fragile frame. She has warm olive skin, large hazel eyes, and thick auburn hair that falls in waves when not tied back for work. Despite her slight build, there is a strength in her posture and hands which are calloused from years of working with stone and tools.
Known Information: The second wife of Gold Warden Coggeshall, Victoria rose rapidly through the House of Merit to become a Master Mason at a young age. She has overseen several important projects for House Coggeshall, improving river ports and defensive structures. Many at court think she used this position to seduce the Gold Warden and married for power.
Sesa Lovelle
Age: 27 years old
Nickname: The Beautiful
Role: First Inquisitor, Oathsworn
Quote: “It is the honor of my life to serve House Aetherian. I would die a million bloody deaths just to see the Glorious Lineage smile.”
Appearance: A haunting and ethereal beauty with porcelain skin and long black hair that cascades down her back. Messy strands curtain one half of her face, barely revealing glossy violet eyes. Faint bags shadow her dangerous expression, highlighting the sharp features of her face. Though she says little, when she does dare to speak, the words spill from the corner of her mouth, lips twisting in a crooked pull. Regardless of her "undignified behavior,” she moves with a practiced grace. Often her shoulders round forward and hands clasped at her waist in an effort to use her lithe frame to disappear completely.
Known Information: First Inquisitor Sesa was forced into the position after her parents suddenly died when she was only eight years old. Her youth was spent being mentored by High Lord Aetherian directly, and many believe she receives special treatment from him. Still, most of the court find her meek and useless.
