~ Bio ~

Cloverfair rests in the massive shadow of the Iron Bulwark, and is responsible for maintaining the immediate safety and defense of Waeldstone to external threats. While it is prepared for battle at a moment's notice, the city itself is astonishingly well-kept. The streets are wide, and lined with trees, gardens, and decorative banners. The architecture is quaint and welcoming, and the sweet smell of honey lilts in the air.

Beyond the city proper extend miles of farmland, which hold tight along the banks of the Mirwyn river. Cattle and livestock graze in the open fields, as the city dissipates into the wilderness beyond. On the western border, stands Castle Belwyk, named after the first Oathsworn to reside over Cloverfair. The impressive fortress is as heavily armed as the Iron Bulwark, and starkly contrasts the pleasant atmosphere of the city.

~ Local Laws ~

The Iron Bulwark: This massive stone wall towers over the city and stretches for miles across the horizon. Over fifty feet high, the Iron Bulwark is one of the most impressive features in all of Waeldstone. Numerous guardhouses top the wall, and oversized balista fill the gaps.

~ Notable Characters~

Castle Belwyk: A dark stain on the otherwise bright and hospitable Cloverfair, Castle Belwyk dominates the western skyline. Its gothic spires, tall towers, and dark exterior feel particularly out of place against the green gardens and colorful structures surrounding it. Its walls surround a wide distance, with large ballista mounted at every cardinal direction.

Petronella’s Honey House: This extensive garden and complex of hives rests on the northern edge of town, covering an expanse of low rolling, stoney hills. Tall fences and palisades protect the apiary from thieves and intruders. A single manor house sits in the middle of the estate, made of dark timbers and built around an inner courtyard. Its tall towers overlook the numerous hives and reach above the outer palisades. Fields of flowers, clovers and shrubs roam across the soil, swaying in the breeze.

Sibling Hearth Chapel: This stone chapel sits prominently in Cloverfair’s central market. A single stained glass window rests above the doorway, and is crowned by a steepled red roof. Ivy and other plants creep across the exterior, adding vibrant splashes of color to an otherwise modest building.

Rosepetal Altar: This sizable arena is made up of timber and stone that clash in color, giving its exterior an artistic flair. Tiered seating rises around a central stage made of packed earth, while crimson banners, rose stylized motifs, and walls of hedge gardens, bring a spark of color and life to the space.

Coastal Caravan Company: A large fenced off compound sits near the main road, engulfed in the Iron Bulwark’s shadow. Within, dozens of caravans stand in various states of repair, while horses mill about in the stables beyond. A smattering of buildings line the inner edges of the yard; workshops, stables, and housing, while a squat wooden building nearest the fence serves as the main office.

The River Mill: A large mill sits beside a wide stretch of the Mirwyn river, its waterwheel turning in the current. The low sound of the wheel and the rhythmic grind of the millstones blend with the churning of the river. Workers stack bags of flour on the covered porch as they go about their other tasks.

Surrounding Farmland: Broad fields of grain and vegetables stretch outward from the end of town and toward the river, divided by low stone walls and sparse villages. Farm houses and barns can be seen over the tall stalks throughout the distance.

Market: Surrounded by bright gardens, hedge walls, and ample torchlight, the market still somehow fails to look welcoming. Completely overwhelmed by the towering Iron Bulwark beside it, the shadows cast a menacing pallor across the yard. Even so, the merchants hawk their wares with fervor, and goods trade as well as anywhere else.

Fine Fortune’s Inn: This impressive three story building looks more like a palace than an inn. With large open windows, warm lighting, and enticing music, it would be a sin not to enter. Outside, the yard is beautifully maintained, with cobblestone walkways, a fountain in the courtyard, and numerous valets to help guests as they arrive.

Romantics Garrison: This small castle stands adjacent to the main gate of the Iron Bulwark, housing the primary defensive force for Cloverfair. Tall walls protect the trainyard, stables, and minimal housing within, but don’t even reach half of the Bulwark’s height.
